• Laptop (fully functional with all necessary software, virus-free)

• Power supply, keyboard, mouse

• Wireless network card

• Digital camera with extra batteries and USB cable

• Two 8GB+ memory sticks

• Printer with extra ink/toner and USB cable

• Wall chargers for devices

Peripherals & Accessories

• USB hub with power supply

• Extension cord with grounding

• Multi-plug power strips with surge protection (bring 2 if possible)

Standard Office Supplies

• 8½ x 11 white paper (2+ reams)

• Calculator, stapler (with staples), tape, sticky notes

• Paper clips, binder clips, scissors

• 6' plastic folding table (for temporary desk space)

Vehicle Essentials

Your vehicle may be critical in large-scale events when services are limited. Ensure readiness with:

• Proof of insurance and registration

• Jumper cables, large flashlight with extra batteries

• Fix-a-flat, air compressor, flat repair kit

• Emergency road flares

• Vehicle fluids: brake, power steering, coolant, engine oil, transmission

• 5-gallon water jug

• Extra gasoline (if safe to carry)

• Vehicle jack

Camera & Measurement Tools

• Durable digital camera and protective pouch

• Tape measures: 35’ FatMax, 100’ roll, laser tape measure

• Tape roller for ground measurements

• Roof pitch gauge, shingle/metal thickness tool

Miscellaneous Tools

• Clipboards, small flashlight, compass, utility knife, putty knife

• Pencils, pens, colored chalk/soap stone

• Ladders: 20’ and 28’ aluminum, or folding/expandable alternatives

• Tool belt (adjuster preference)

Personal Essentials

Sun Protection & Weather Gear

• Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses

• Wide-brim hat, bandana, ball caps (optional for non-inspections)

• Lightweight rain jacket, windbreaker, heavy all-weather jacket if cold

Clothing

• 7–10 pairs khaki/cargo long pants, 5 pairs shorts

• 10 professional shirts with collars, 5–10 synthetic T-shirts

• Underwear and socks (enough for at least a week)

• Belt, warm gloves, professional boots

Personal Care & Medical

• Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, shampoo, soap, shaving kit

• Medications (2-month supply if possible)

• First aid kit and antiseptics

• Baby powder, hand sanitizer, toilet paper

• Ice chest, lunch/snacks, meals for first 2–3 days
